In a small town of Perechyn, over two months seven cars and a motorcycle have been stolen. Each owner of stolen cars in desperation asked the Perechyn police for help. And each one’s stories were almost identical.
After another theft, the Head of the Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region Vasyl Vartsaba took the course of the investigation of those criminal proceedings under a special control, the site of the regional Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informed.
The police were considering several versions about who and for what purpose was stealing the cars. But all were inclined to believe that it was likely the work of minors.
The ending of this criminal story is surprisingly simple: three teenagers, two of them are district center residents, the third one lives in a nearby village, just decided to make some money and have some fun. Without the slightest remorse, they would cynically take other people’s cars, ride them, mercilessly break everything that could be broken, and then take more or less valuable items and leave the cars.
What is shocking is the professionalism of the children. All three had rubber gloves, they would wash footprints with water, knew how to start the vehicle without a key. According to the children, they learned such detailed information about the methods and means of committing the crime from television and the Internet.
Perechyn district police chief Victor Rebrey noted that all three juveniles would be prosecuted for their acts under Part 2 of Article 289 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and may be punished for their actions with 5 to 8 years of imprisonment.
