Operatives have just arrested three people involved in the attack on the Society of Hungarian Culture on February 27. One of them was detained in Cherkasy, and two more in Kropyvnytsky. Also, the suspected organizer of the attacks has been identified, he is wanted.
Before that, Transcarpathian police identified citizens of Poland involved in the arson of the center on February 4.These two people were detained by our Polish colleagues in Warsaw. The Polish court imposed on them a pre-trial restraint in the form of 90 days in custody. Now, with the support of the Prosecutor General’s Office, we are taking measures to interrogate the detainees.
The police will respond to any extremism promptly and efficiently."
The destruction of Hungarian symbols and buildings in Transcarpathia already has its own history.
As you know, on February 4 in Uzhgorod, a bottle with inflammable substance was thrown into the building of the Transcarpathian Union of Hungarians.
On February 27, at 3 am, rescuers reported about a fire in the office space on Pravoslavna embankment in Uzhgorod, and the office of the "KMCSZ Party of Hungarians of Ukraine" was set on fire. The attackers had set up an improvised explosive device that detonated and caused the fire.
