29 unsolved murders in Transcarpathia since declaration of independence

For the first quarter of this year, police has uncovered 1323 crimes, tracked down 96 criminals, informed the head of Ministry of Internal Affairs in Transcarpathian region, Major General of police Viktor Rusin. Nearly 2000 crimes were registered and more than a thousand of criminal cases were filed. Out of these, 719 are serious and very serious. 80% of murders have domestic roots, for example, drunkenness or quarrels among family members.

Since independence, 29 murders haven’t been solved in Transcarpathia. Now a police task force team is investigating the murder of a contractor soldier in Beregovo district. The guy had been considered missing, but recently his skeleton was found and DNA tested.
