The City Hall sent an official notice of the extraordinary session.
“Today, according to the order of the Mayor № 451 dd. 12.02.13, at 14.00, there will be the meeting of the extraordinary session of Uzhgorod City Council.
At the session, they will consider only one issue – “On the support of Ukraine’s European aspirations and the situation in the country,” – the statement reads.
Among the slogans, there were such as “Side with us”, “Kyiv, we are with you.” Protesters are calling representatives of the authorities. A huge crowd of people – more than a thousand conscious Transcarpathians – are near the RSA bulding.

“Today at 14.00, deputies of Uzhgorod City Council will gather in the assembly hall. Please, come to Poshtova square to express solidarity with the supporters of European integration policy and the government’s resignation,” – City Council Deputy Andriy Bahanych wrote in his facebook.
Yesterday, at 11.05, it was reported, that in the suburban area “Nad ozerom”, near the village of Orikhovytsya, a country house, where a 67-year-old disabled man lived, was burning. Firefighters arrived at the place of the fire, localized it. In the bedroom, on the bed, they found the charred corpse of the home owner. The fire destroyed the house completely. The preliminary cause of the fire is careless smoking in bed.
Transcarpathian Regional Council supports the nationwide strike, announced in Kyiv on the Maidan, and the demands of the protesters. The Regional Council Chairman Ivan Baloha urges concerned Transcarpathians to join the strike on the streets of the country, our Transcarpathia, to support the demands that were declared on them.

December 2, during the general strike, in Uzhgorod on the stage on Teatralna Square in Transcarpathia, famous poets, musicians, public figures will recite revolutionary poetry (their own and classic).
The Rector of UzhNU Fedir Vashchuk signed the order to support nationwide strike “in order to provide opportunity for the faculty, staff and students of Uzhgorod National University to realize their constitutional right to freely express, display, form their own opinions, attitudes and beliefs and gather for their peaceful expression.”
