In October, 108,000 UAH from the regional budget was spent for a variety of cultural events, including regional festivals. The most expensive for taxpayers was the International Festival “Interlialka” – 50,000 UAH.
17,000 from the regional budget was allocated for the inter-regional plein air of carvers and the sculptures exhibition to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of the People’s Artist of Ukraine Vasyl Svyda. 15,000 was spent on the exhibition of Honored Master of Folk Art of Ukraine, representative of the regional branch of the National Union of Folk Art Masters of Ukraine Vasyl Oros on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of his birth.
The regional authorities also gave 8,000 for the Rusyn folk art festival “Chervena ruzha.” The regional wind music festival cost 10,000, and the celebration of the 69th anniversary of the liberation of Transcarpathia from the Nazi occupation – 5,000. The Regional Union of Artists of Ukraine, the head of which Boris Kuzma is openly against the “reconstruction” of Narodna Square, received the least. The governor allocated only 3,000 UAH for the celebration of the Day of the Artist.
