The issue of local government’s funds has been discussed for quite a long time now. And one of the first officials to speak on this issue was the mayor of Mukachevo, Zoltan Lendyel, particularly in his interview “Unfortunately, we have what we have” (the newspaper “Mukachivska Ratusha” 38 (151) of February 28, 2013) where he focused on the fact that the city government failed to pay the appropriate utilities and contractors over three million hryvnias for works and services performed 2012. At the same time, on the State Treasury account there were 24 million hryvnias belonging to Mukachevo.

In the first quarter of this year, more than 2 million hryvnias have already been spent for improvement in the regional center.

Officers of the “Tyachiv” unit of the Mukachevo detachment learned about possible illegal activity at the border from the locals. The response team, which immediately arrived at the scene, late on Saturday arrested our compatriot. The offender was stopped 30 meters away from the border line on the Tisa river with 8 boxes of cigarettes. After a while, border guards of the same unit together with MIA officers stopped a car “Toyota” registered in Germany, in which another Ukrainian was carrying 8 boxes of cigarettes.
