For Transcarpathians: foreigners must leave the Czech Republic by November 16

Foreigners, whose Schengen visas for employment in the Czech Republic have been extended from March 12, 2020, due to an emergency situation must leave the country by November 16.

This was reported on the website of the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Lviv

Starting from March 12, in connection with the introduction of quarantine measures in the Czech Republic, short-term work visas could be extended with the prior consent of the employer and the employee.

The deadline for the departure of foreigners has been repeatedly extended, the last time it was extended to 16.11.2020. Workers, who were officially employed and registered, could legally stay for almost eight months after the visa actually expired.

At the meeting of the Czech government on Monday, November 9, it was finally decided that this deadline would not be extended anymore, and therefore every foreigner must leave the territory of the Czech Republic by 16.11.2020.
