The cultural route "Path of Transcarpathian Painting" is a large-scale project aimed at developing sustainable tourism in the region. The route is based on landscapes by 10 artists of the Transcarpathian School of Painting. Their works have become real points on the digital map.
The Path of Transcarpathian Painting began with the idea of continuing the European tradition of cultural routes.
Places where Transcarpathian artists painted became the basis of the new route. Those are 4 centers of the greatest concentration of tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the region – Uzhok Verkhovyna, Volovets-Mizhhirya Verkhovyna, Rakhiv district and Mukachevo. In total, those are 150 points of unique natural environments of Transcarpathia. They all are marked on the digital map. So that everyone can experience the history and identity of the region, choose their own route to see the nature and culture of the region.
The project was initiated by the NGO "Cultural Platform of Transcarpathia" and is being implemented within the partnership program "Culture. Tourism. Regions” from the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, the USAID Competitive Economy of Ukraine Program and the SME.DO Office for Small and Medium Business Development at the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine.
The project partners are the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, ILKO Gallery Art Center and EUROBUD MALL LLC.
