An investigative team and experts from the Khust Police Department immediately arrived at the scene. During the investigation, it was established that, the night before, a domestic conflict had arisen between the two men and their guest, a 37-year-old resident of Khust. During the incident, which escalated into a fight, the guest inflicted numerous injuries to the owner of the apartment and the 49-year-old victim. The latter died from the injuries by morning.
The operatives of Khust district found the man involved in the fatal beating. The 37-year-old man is reasonably suspected of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 121 (Intentional grievous bodily injury that caused the death of the victim) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed in a temporary detention facility. The detainee faces up to 10 years in prison, the Communications department of the Transcarpathian regional police informed.
