A 22-year-old resident of the Mukachevo district committed a number of thefts from private houses in the village of Velyky Bychkiv. Under the pretext of raising funds for a sick child, the offender stole money in the amount of more than 375 thousand hryvnias and jewelry. Police investigators are conducting a pre-trial investigation into all the incidents.
Police found out that the person involved in the case, under the pretext of raising funds for a seriously ill child, begged for money from local residents. The offender was carrying a photo with a "fake" diagnosis to convince people.
The offender would first make sure that the owners were not at home, then break into their houses.
As a result, the police have already indicted the man of three thefts from the homes of fellow villagers. The police confiscated some of the stolen money in foreign currency at the residence of the man’s relatives and returned it to the victims.
During the pre-trial investigation, police officers established the involvement of the offender in seven other similar thefts committed in the village of Velyky Bychkiv. Among the stolen items, there were money and jewelry.
Now the resident of Mukachevo, Baloh Maxim Mykhailovich, is wanted. The police are taking all measures to establish his whereabouts.
The police are conducting a pre-trial investigation under Part 3 of Art. 185 (Theft combined with breaking and entering) of the Criminal code of Ukraine. The perpetrator faces imprisonment for up to six years
