Hungary is stepping up epidemiological measures

"From September 1, more stringent epidemiological measures will be introduced," – Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Kossuth Radio, the MyHungary.Net reported.

The classification of each country, which was introduced in the summer, can not be used from September 1, so stricter rules will be introduced. The Prime Minister stressed that he could not interfere in the privacy, habits and holiday plans of the Hungarian people, but he asked everyone with due care and respect not to book, organize or plan vacations in the south after September, because it would be contrary to border protection measures. "If you still want to see the sea, go see it now," – Viktor Orban added.

On Wednesday, the head of the office of the Prime Minister of Hungary, Gergely Gulyás, said that stricter rules for travelling abroad would be introduced next month. Merkely Béla, professor and rector at Semmelweis University, said earlier that the situation with the epidemic could change in the autumn, but that it would not be possible to close the country twice a year, so a different strategy was needed.
