On August 17, a musical and cultural event called "Evenings under Chestnuts" started with a series of open-air concerts on Fentsyk Square near the Regional Philharmonic in Uzhgorod.
The evening was opened by the symphony orchestra conducted by Honored Artist of Ukraine Victoria Svalyavchyk-Tsanko. The musicians performed soundtracks from the famous films "Pearl Harbor", "Dirty Dancing", "Batman", "Bondiana", etc. The host of the concert, musicologist Natalia Pitsur, noted that the symphony orchestra is preparing a concert program for September with soundtracks, which will be performed in the Philharmonic Hall.
Today, August 18, you will listen to the chamber and instrumental ensemble "Hungarian Melodies" led by Honored Artist of Ukraine Diana Havata. On the 19th – the brass band (director – People’s Artist of Ukraine Volodymyr Spivak), on the 20th – the ensemble "Zakarpatski vizerunky" will perform.
On August 21, the series of concerts will be closed by the chamber orchestra conducted by Honored Artist of Ukraine Vladyslav Yurosh. All concerts start at 18.00.
Uzhgorod residents note that the idea of outdoor concerts is very good, especially during quarantine. They also hope that it would be good to organize such events in autumn and mainly on weekends.
