Uzhgorod Mayor’s Award for Gifted Youth

The winners of the Uzhgorod Mayor’s Award for Gifted Youth of the City were determined yesterday at the meeting of the competition commission. 
  
The Chairman of the Commission, Deputy Mayor Vasyl Homonay and the Head of the Department for Culture, Youth and Sports, Deputy Chairman of the Commission Olga Vasylyndra presented the submissions received from Uzhgorod National University, Uzhgorod Institute of Culture and Arts, College of Natural Sciences and Humanities of Uzhgorod National University, Uzhgorod Music Colledge, Uzhgorod Children’s School of Arts, Uzhgorod Children’s Music School №1 named after PI Tchaikovsky. 
The discussion was attended by Director of the Department of Labor and Social Welfare Andriy Biksei, the Head of the Department of Education Natalia Mukhomedyanova, the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Education, Culture, Health, Sports and Social Welfare, International Relations and Tourism of Uzhgorod City Council Olena Kaminska, the Acting Director of the Transcarpathian Regional Universal Scientific Library Olena Kanyuka, conductor of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra Victoria Svalyavchyk-Tsanko. 
Following the discussions, it was decided that the prizes – 10 thousand hryvnias each – will go to:

– ​​for scientific achievements – Yana Holinka, a fourth-year student of the College of Natural Sciences and Humanities of Uzhgorod National University (specialty – law); 

– for creative achievements – Serhiy Fanta, a first-year student of the Uzhgorod Institute of Culture and Arts (specialty – music art); 

– for contribution to the development of the youth movement – Volodymyr Popovych, a second-year student of Uzhgorod National University (specialty – public administration).
