Gas company warns of scammers who cheat trusting people out of their money

What to do to avoid becoming a victim of scams

The alarming reports came from Vynogradiv district. There, scammers are trying to take advantage of the difficult situation in Ukraine and the world. They come to people’s homes claiming that they are representatives of the Zakarpatgas JSC. Those people claim that they have to disconnect gas appliances from gas supply because they have been installed without permits. Then, take from the owners 500 UAH for not doing it.

We declare that these people are not representatives of our company. No gas supply shutdown activities are currently being carried out in the region.

On March 16, 2020, quarantine was introduced in the Zakarpatgas JSC. This means that some services work remotely, others (such as emergency service) work normally.

We would like to inform you that the company has made a decision not to disconnect consumers from gas supply during the quarantine period. Please note that under the usual procedure of disconnection from gas supply, representatives of the company always warn about it in advance and in writing.

If persons claiming to be gas company workers come to your home, ask them to show their ID. If a person shows it, be sure to check if it has a seal, then look at the expiration date. Better still – take a picture with your mobile phone.
