Thirty thousand pancakes are to be made at the Uzhgorod Palachinta 2020

Uzhgorod Press Club hosted a press conference of the Uzhgorod Palachinta 2020 festival organizers.
They also discussed the beginning of the festival year in Uzhgorod.
Uzhgorod Palachinta 2020 is the first big festival this year in Uzhgorod. And the year 2020 was declared the ethno-gastronomic year in Transcarpathia. Fedir Shandor, the President of the Transcarpathian Tourism Organization, told about it. According to Fedir Shandor, the 2020 tourist season seems to be a failure: the winter season suffered due to the lack of snow, spring and summer will have less visa-free tourists. But all the planned festivals still will be held.
Serhiy Denisenko, co-organizer of the Uzhgorod Palachinta festival, reminded that the holiday has been held 11 times. This year they changed its location – near the Dastor shopping center. The festival will run from February 14 to February 16. There will be many different events that "revolve" around pancakes.
According to Serhiy Denisenko, 30,000 pancakes are planned to be made and eaten at the festival.
The competition for the best pancake with the "golden pan" prize is planned to be held. Not only Transcarpathian cooks, but also representatives of Kyiv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv will participate. The second day of the festival will have a concert program, and the headliner is the band "Marina and Company". On the third day, the sports competition "Iron Palachinta" will be held. The festival will finish with a fire show and burning of Mara.
