Bear “strike”: only three bears in the “Synevyr” National Park went into hibernation

This was reported by employees of the National Nature Park.

According to experts, the air temperature is not yet low enough for the bears. Since the beginning of December, true winter weather lasted only for a week and only 3 bears went into hibernation during that time. The rest are waiting for colder weather.

The bears grew in captivity, so winter sleep is an unknown thing for them.

"The restoration of natural instincts and psychological and physical rehabilitationof bears is one of the main tasks of the center, which opened in December 2011. Now the center is a home to 32 bears," – the park staff say

Last winter, most of the bears in the rehab center went into hibernation. This is, they say, a good indicator of animal rehabilitation.
