Fraud schemes: In Transcarpathia, bank clients are cheated out of their money

A new fraud scheme to cheat bank customers out of their money has emerged 
It is not the first time that phone fraudsters cheat Transcarpathians out of their money. Transcarpathian Miroslava Shegda almost became the victim of such a scam. The girl posted her warning on Facebook:
“I want to warn you about the situation that happened to me 30 minutes ago. I got a phone call from the number +380 (91) 600 28 05, a man introduced himself as a security officer of PrivatBank, and told me that someone was trying to make a payment at the online store with my card and asked if I confirm the transaction. I refused. After that they told me to call the PrivatBank hotline 3700 and to make sure that they were really the security service. I called the phone number +380 (50) 130 85 84 immediately, they also introduced themselves as PrivatBank employees, I told them about the situation, they asked me for the phone number I had been called from previously, after which they confirmed that it was indeed the security service and that I should do what they would say, because my accounts were blocked and the bank could not see any information on my accounts. I was very alarmed, and when I said that I would call my personal banker they told me that I should not waste my time. That’s when I realized that it was definitely a fraud. I called the manager and my suspicions were confirmed. Be careful, never rush to provide any information. It is better to check everything. 5 minutes laters, the above numbers would not answer.”
