Closing of the festival “Interlyalka-2019”

The closing ceremony of the XVII International Festival "Interlyalka-2019" was held today in Uzhgorod in the Regional Puppet Theater "Bavka".
This year, the festival was attended by representatives of 10 countries, who presented stage performances of famous tales of peoples of the world and Ukrainian folk art. In particular, companies from Georgia, Poland, Slovakia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Romania, Estonia, Belarus, Italy, as well as from Ukrainian cities of Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, Ternopil, Lutsk, Rivne and Uzhgorod.
The participants of the festival were awarded in the nominations "Best Actor", "Best Actress", "Best Art Design". The Audience Award was presented to theaters from Nitra (Slovak Republic) and Kharkiv.
The mayor of Uzhgorod Bohdan Andriyiv thanked the guests who had come and created a good holiday for young and adult spectators, stressed that "Interlyalka" is the oldest puppet theater festival in Ukraine, as it was founded in 1990. Also, Bohdan Andriyiv presented the main prize of the festival – the Grand Prix, which this year went to the theater company from the city of Grodno (Belarus) for the performance "The Queen of Spades" directed by the famous Belarusian director Oleg Zhyugzhda.

Recall that the festival takes place on the initiative of the theater of puppets “Bavka” and with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, Transcarpathian regional state administration, Transcarpathian regional council, Uzhgorod city council.
