On August 11, 2019, the Beekeepers Festival will take place in the village of Vuchkove, Mizhhirya district, in the picturesque tract of Petrovets.
The village of Vuchkovo is a well-known center of Transcarpathian beekeeping.
Carpathian bee is considered to be one of the best breeds for apiary, as it has many advantages and positive feedback from experienced beekeepers.
This breed was first discovered in the Carpathian Mountains in the late 20th century, which is why it was named Carpathian.
At that time, the Carpathian bees were on the verge of extinction, so a huge amount of work was done to preserve this species of bees.
As a result, thousands of beekeepers today enjoy the honey collected by the Carpathian bee, as well as try to breed and multiply the number of individuals of this peaceful breed.
In 2006, the monument to the Carpathian bee was erected on the territory of the beekeeping farm in the village of Vuchkove.
The program of the festival includes performances of folklore and amateur groups, consecration of honey and beekeeping products, an exhibition-fair of beekeepers and entertainment near the Vuchkove mineral water geyser.
The guests of the festival will be able to taste the food of the Verkhovyna cuisine and honey products, as well as get acquainted with the history of beekeeping, which will be presented by the Mizhhirya Beekeepers Association. Source.
