Accident on Slovyanska embankment in Uzhgorod: pre-trial restraint has been imposed on the suspect

Detention without the right to be released on bail – right now the investigative judge has imposed the pre-trial restraint on the 20-year-old suspect in violation of traffic rules, which resulted in serious bodily harm to the victim. 

The court took into account the gravity of the crime the person is suspected of, the fact of driving without license, as well as a high public attention to the case. 

The term of the ruling is tentatively set until August 13, 2019. 

At this stage of the criminal process, the investigating judge does not establish the guilt of the suspect, but only chooses a pre-trial restraint in order to control the behavior of the suspect.
