Let’s learn how to cook riplyanka in Kolochava! (Announcement)

On June 7, a gastronomic festival dedicated to the traditional local dish – riplyanka – will be held in the village of Kolochava in Mizhhirya district.

It is cooked in any family even now. The main product for it is potatoes, which in the village are called ripa. The name "ripyanka" comes from this word.

In addition to potatoes, it includes corn flour and semola. Riplyanka is cooked over low heat in a frying pan, while stirred with a wooden stick (tokanyanyk). They eat it with cheese, eggs and various meat, sour cream, mushroom gravies.

The event is organized by the municipal organization "Regional Organizational and Methodical Center of Culture" of the Transcarpathian Regional Council under a grant project with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.
