735 enterprises of Transcarpathian region have equipped their commercial accounting units with remote data transmission means. Those are 62% of the total number of non-household consumers which are required to use such modems in according with the Gas Distribution System Code.
"The installation of such devices is necessary to ensure daily accounting and accurate forecasting of gas consumption in the region. The requirement for mandatory installation of such devices is contained in the Code of Gas Distribution Systems and was approved in November 2015, " – the acting commercial director of the "Zakarpatgaz" PJSC Yulia Sokolova explained.
Using remote data transmission devices, data on the volume of gas consumption are transmitted to the GDS operator daily. This is necessary for the proper organization of the daily balancing of the domestic gas market, which started on March 1, 2019.
In the event that modems are not installed, specialists of the "Zakarpatgaz" PJSC do it in the so-called "manual mode".
The National Commission on Energy and Utilities has repeatedly emphasized the necessity of installing modems on gas meters. Last year, the Regulator granted companies another deferral until May of this year. However, 38% of legal entities of Transcarpathia have not installed the necessary equipment. In case of non-compliance with the requirements of the GDS Code, the "Zakarpatgaz" PJSC will have legal grounds to stop the distribution of gas to these companies.
