Four military chaplains of various denominations became the laureates of the international Father Omelyan Kovch award for outstanding humanitarian contribution.
The VIII awarding ceremony was held on Wednesday in the National Opera of Ukraine, the correspondent of the Ukrinform reported.
One of this year laureates is father-chaplain Ivan Isayovich (Mukachevo-Uzhgorod Diocese of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church).
Father Ivan Isayovich is the founder and manager of an orphanage. From the first days of the war, he voluntarily became the chaplain of the 128th Mountain Infantry Brigade. He was wounded. He continues to provide spiritual support to combatants and all those who need help in the war zone. He was granted the "People’s Hero of Ukraine" Award.
