The first film festival “New Ukrainian Cinema” will be held in Uzhgorod (ANNOUNCEMENT)

On Monday, March 18, at 17:30, the Transcarpathian Regional Universal Scientific Library will host the screening of the film by Sergei Loznitsa "Donbas" within the framework of the All-Ukrainian festival "New Ukrainian Cinema".

The satirical drama "Donbass" by Sergei Loznitsa was premiered at the Cannes Film Festival’s "Un Certain Regard" program, where it won the award for directing. In October, the film was awarded with the prize "KINOKOLO", which is annually awarded by the community of film critics of Ukraine for the best film and directing. "Donbass" represented Ukraine as a national candidate for the "Oscar" award for the best film in a foreign language.

From March 1 to April 30, the first film festival "New Ukrainian Cinema" will be held in Ukraine. Anyone can hold the festival in their city – curators of film clubs and activists, who can offer space for shows, are invited to cooperation. To do this, you need to leave an application on the site of the project "Film Club. All-Ukrainian Network". The rights to films are granted for non-profit screenings. 

"New Ukrainian Cinema" will be held in Ukrainian film clubs from March 1 to April 30, 2019. The festival is organized by the "Arthouse Traffic" company with the support of the State Agency of Ukraine on Cinema.
