Transcarpathians are watching the Supermoon (PHOTOFACT)

The Supermoon, that is, the Moon, which in the evening of February 19th will come so close to the Earth that it will look much bigger than usual, can be seen in Transcarpathia too. According to astronomers, today we will observe the "largest" full moon of the year, which we will not see again until Christmas in 2026, – the Ukrinform informs with reference to Astronomy Now.

The next lunar eclipses, which, however, will not be as long, according to NASA, can be expected on January 21 and July 16, 2019, January 10, June 5 and July 5, 2020 and November 30, 2020, and the most incredible Moon in the 21st century is expected on December 6, 2052 – then, the minimum distance between these celestial bodies in a hundred years will be recorded – 356,447 kilometers.
