Huge queues were formed at the checkpoint, where a Transcarpathian journalist exposed corrupt customs officers.
They check only two cars per hour.
As we reported, Transcarpathian journalist Vitaliy Glagola recorded how on the border with Slovakia, a customs officer demanded from him a bribe for unimpeded border crossing.
The Ministry of Finance of Slovakia reacted to this video on its Facebook page and asked anyone who suffered from extortion to provide evidence.
It is currently known that the corrupt customs officer has been fired. However, his colleagues decided to take revenge on drivers.
According to the Slovak TV channel JOJ, at this moment, there are huge queues at this checkpoint. Sometimes drivers have to wait in these queues for 14 hours. The drivers say that customs officers check only two cars per hour and ask for additional documents. The Ministry of Finance of Slovakia says that no additional documents are required. So, it is difficult to understand what is actually going on at the largest checkpoint on the border of Ukraine and Slovakia.
