Snowfall in Uzhgorod continues, utilities assure: roads and streets are being cleaned (VIDEO)

From 18:00 on Tuesday, January 15, in connection with the severe deterioration of the weather conditions, special vehicles have been working on the streets of Uzhgorod: first, workers of the KSHEP were pouring anti-icing mixture on the roads, after midnight, 6 multi-purpose road clearing vehicles, 4 tractors, and a grader were cleaning the streets.

They were working until morning, currently the main streets, roundabouts, bus routes have been cleared.

Today, since 7 o’clock in the morning, janitors of the service companies have been cleaning the sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, pouring anti-icing mixture.

The city authorities remind about the necessity to follow the street maintenance rules – namely, to remove snow and ice from the areas adjacent to private homes, businesses, organizations, and institutions (especially sidewalks). Employees of enterprises, organizations, businesses and owners of the houses bear responsibility for these works.

Once again, we appeal to drivers with a request to remove vehicles from the roadside and not to leave cars on the main roads in the evening and night, because they interfere with snow removal.

In addition, we inform that today, on January 16, in afternoon, further works for cleaning the city from snow are scheduled. The work will start from transport bridges, so traffic may be hampered during this time.
