Most of the Christmas trees in our region were solemnly lit up on December 19, the day of St. Nicholas. Today, there are a few days left until the New Year’s Eve, and New Year beauties are already shining in every city of the region, creating a festive mood for all residents and guests of Transcarpathia.
So, we picked up a photo of each of the beauties so you could admire Christmas trees on the eve of the holidays.
Uzhgorod – the city tree on Poshtova square
This tree was given to the city by the machine-building plant "Tisa", on the territory of which the green beauty grew. The height of the Christmas tree is about 14 meters, and the age is about 60 years

This year, the main beauty of the region has new elements of illumination. In general, about a kilometer of fairy-lights and 500 toys decorate the main Christmas tree of Transcarpathia.
Beregovo
The 9 m high tree was donated by an entrepreneur. On December 2, the first candle of Advent was lit.
Mukachevo
Before lighting of the Christmas tree, actors and city groups performed on the central stage.
Khust
In Khust, this year’s Christmas tree is 15 meters high, 3 meters above its predecessor.
Rakhiv
During the celebration, the results of the city drawing competition "St. Nicholas through the eyes of children" were announced, local young talents and professional groups performed on the stage.
Tyachiv
This year, the community educational institutions treated everyone with home-made mulled wine, food and sweets. The highlight of the holiday program was the skating show.
Chop
For the fourth consecutive year, a living tree in the central part of Chop is decorated on winter holidays.
Vynogradiv
During the grand opening of the main Christmas tree, for the first time the St. Nicholas’ Residence and the Christmas Fair were opened there.
Volovets
After the congratulations of St. Nicholas, Christmas tree was lit with bright lights. The festival continued with the performances of talented children of the district, games, competitions, and finished with festive fireworks.
Svalyava
Residetns of Svalyava decorate a living tree growing in the center of the town.
Perechyn
In Perechyn, they traditionally decorate a living tree growing in the center, on Narodna square
Velyky Berezny
This year’s Christmas tree decorations have festive golden colors, and in the evening and at night fairy-lights shine on the tree.
Irshava
On the central square of the city of Irshava, the solemn lighting of the New Year tree took place on December 23rd.
