Representatives of the Historical Reenactment Club "Order of Saint Nicholas" carried a barrel of young wine across the center of Uzhgorod in order to solemnly uncork it on the "cross" – the intersection of Korzo and Voloshin streets.
This event on the occasion of the Beaujolais Nouveau holiday has already become a tradition in Transcarpathia.
The holiday of young wine in Europe is celebrated on the third Thursday of November, when the first young wine ripens. It is poured on the ground as a sign of gratitude for the harvest.
Today’s event marked the beginning of the "Transcarpathian Beaujolais" Festival, which will last through Sunday in the basements of the "Owl’s Nest" and on the adjoining territory, and promises to be cheerful and delicious.
Here are some photos from the holiday with the fire show from the studio "Dragonfly".
