Ghosts, skeletons, characters of comics, films and books, products of author’s imagination, and, of course, witches and warlocks of all kinds – the celebration on Teatralna Square astounded with the diversity of images.
Taking into account that there is a demand for such an event in the city, the Movement to support Transcarpathian soldiers decided to use the night of November 1, known in the world as Halloween, for a good cause. In collaboration with the animal rights activists of the NGO "Barbos" and with the support of the partners, the volunteers organized a spooky and fun holiday.
The participants were racing on broomsticks, rolling pumpkins, biting a charmed apple, wrapping mummies, playing a mystic quiz and a win-win lotto and having themed meals and drinks in the tavern "Witch’s Place".
The winners of the contests received good prizes: certificates for a dinner in a cafe, beautiful souvenirs, valuable wine, etc. The culmination of the holiday was the competition for the most interesting costume. Knight and Viking, Ladybug, Husky, Little Red Riding Hood, Deyneiris Targarien and John Snow, even Swine Flu and others: the participants’ imagination had no bounds. A magnificent prize – a romantic dinner in a restaurant – went to Katerina, who was dressed as the main character of the saga "The Game of the Thrones".
As a result, the Movement to support Transcarpathian soldiers raised 19,413 hryvnias. The money will go to help Transcarpathians, wounded veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war and to improve diets in the specialized boarding schools of the region. The Movement to support Transcarpathian soldiers proved that every occasion, even as controversial as Halloween, is a good reason for charity.
Details and more information about the partners are on the page Movement to support Transcarpathian soldiers. Moments and emotions are in the photos.
