Employees of the department of municipal street maintenance inspectorate of the Uzhgorod City Council, interdistrict department of the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region and the State Ecological Inspectorate will be conducting raid inspections of the territory of Uzhgorod for control and prevention of waste incineration, the Civil Protection Department of the City Council informs. Violators of the environmental legislation will be penalized in accordance with Art. 77-1 of the CAO: citizens will be fined in the amount of 170 to 340 UAH, officials – 850 to 1190 UAH. Criminal liability is provided for particularly large damages. For the same actions committed within the territories and objects of the nature reserve fund, citizens shall be fined 340 to 680 UAH, officials – 1190 to 1700 UAH. For violation of waste management requirements, fine in the amount of 340 to 1360 UAH shall be imposed, on officials – 850 to 1700 UAH. There is an alternative: dry vegetation can be composted and subsequently used as a natural fertilizer for growing trees and shrubs.
