At night, the head of the Perechyn District State Administration hit two women – one has already died

The Investigation Department of Transcarpathian Police is investigating a criminal proceeding over violation of traffic safety rules, which resulted in the death of a woman in Perechyn. The driver was detained.

Yesterday, on July 13, at 22.37 the police received a report that in Perechyn on Zhovtneva street, a car had hit a woman, and the driver might be in a state of intoxication.

Having arrived at the scene of the accident, the investigating and operational group of the Perechyn Police Department found out that two women had been run over by the head of the Perechyn District State Administration, a resident of Perechyn district. He was driving a "Jeep Cherokee" with foreign registration.

The management of the Main Office of the National Police in Transcarpathian region arrived at the scene.

The victims – two residents of the city of Perechyn, 71 and 56 years of age – were taken to the intensive care unit of the district hospital. Unfortunately, the younger woman died of injuries. 

According to the conclusion of the Transcarpathian Regional Drug Addiction Dispensary, the driver of the SUV was in a state of intoxication.

Criminal proceeding over the incident has been initiated under Part 2 of Art.286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic safety rules that led to the death of the victim). 

The driver was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The vehicle was taken to the police impound lot.
