From now on, the police has the access to the Inspector-2006 customs database, which records all the cars crossing the border.
All information on violators of the terms of stay in Ukraine police is entered into the "Rubizh" system, the website of the informational and analytical group AvtoConsulting informed.
The system automatically reads the license plate of the passing car and reports if it is in the wanted list.
Then, the police officers have legitimate reasons to stop the car and punish the driver.
Using the "Rubizh" system, patrol policemen will be stopping violators, and not those foreigners, who stay in Ukraine in accordance with the rules, analysts say.
The police received this powers under the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The patrol police crew now not only see how long a car has been in Ukraine, but also have the right to impose a fine of 255 UAH if they detect a violation of the allowed period of stay in Ukraine. And repeated violation can lead to deprivation of the driving license for a period of 3-6 months and even to seizure of the car.
According to analysts, the police have already begun to use new powers.
