Today, on June 6, 2018, the Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Mykhailo Rivis, together with representatives of the Transcarpathian Customs, the Svalyava District Council donated a "Mercedes Benz" 312 Sprinter to the Regional Children’s Home in Svalyava.
According to Mykola Yasevich, the acting deputy head of the Transcarpathian Customs, the said vehicle was stopped by the customs officers at the end of last year at the customs post "Uzhgorod". As a result of the customs inspection, a significant number of tobacco products were found in the vehicle, and the car worth more than 176,000 UAH was confiscated by the court.
After the appeal of the Regional Children’s Home, a special commission decided to grant the confiscated vehicle to the institution for free. Thus, thanks to the vehicle seized by the inspectors of the Transcarpathian customs, the public money was saved, and 110 children from the home in the city of Svalyava will benefit from the gift.
