A resident of Mukachevo faces 12 years in prison for an assault and robbery of a pensioner

Officers of the Mukachevo Police Department identified and detained a suspect in a robbery attack on a pensioner. The resident of Mukachevo was notified of being suspected and the court imposed on him a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention.

During the pre-trial investigation over an aassault on a 72-year-old resident of Mukachevo, the police department identified the local man who was involved in the crime. As the law-enforcement officers found out, the 38-year-old man broke into the pensioner’s apartment at night through the window of the pantry and, threatening her, stole money in the amount of 64 UAH thousand.

The police officers, experts, were working at the scene. After examining the evidence, conducting the necessary investigative actions, police officers established the involvement of the district center resident in the crime.

The 38-year-old man has already been notified of being suspected of committing an offense set forth in Part 3 of Art. 187 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court imposed on the suspect a pre-trial restraint in the form of being held in custody. He faces up to 12 years imprisonment with the confiscation of property. Pre-trial investigation in the case continues.
