According to preliminary data, national parks and nature reserves sufferred significant losses as a result of the windfall

As of 12:00, 58 settlements in Transcarpathia are without electricity supply.

– The most difficult situation is in Mukachevo district (18 villages), Rakhiv district (12 villages), Uzhgorod district (11 villages) and Vynogradiv district (4 villages), – Hennadiy Moskal said.

 – The main reason for the lack of electricity is the fall of trees on the power line due to squally wind. Near the village of Cherna (Vynogradiv district) fallen trees tore the 35 kW power line. At the moment, the emergency crews have already restored the power supply in this area. According to preliminary data, as a result of windfall in the highlands, the forestry sector suffered considerable losses (state forestry enterprizes, national parks, nature reserves). The area of the damaged forests and the amount of damages will be clarified after the normalization of weather conditions.

No damages to housing and social facilities were recorded, except for one incident in Rakhiv, where the wind partly tore off the roof from a private house.

The management of regional and district state administrations, employees of the road service, the State Emergencies Service and Transcarpathian power company are working extra hard. The Regional State Administration once again advises not to drive vehicles unless urgently necessary and, if possible, to postpone road trips until after normalization of the weather.
