Andriyiv explained how Uzhgorod schoolchildren will be transported next year

In an exclusive interview with the newspaper "Nash Uzhgorod", Bohdan Andriyiv told what Uzhgorod schoolchildren should expect next year, the zakarpatpost.net reported.

"Currently, in Uzhgorod, 150 city buses provide passenger transportation. Each of them is equipped with a GPS system, the transport department tracks their movement. I understand that entrepreneurs are currently working in such conditions that does not allows them to update their fleet or purchase other vehicles.

As for the children and the complaints from parents, we are the only city in Ukraine where there is a free transportation for schoolchildren.  But our students began to abuse this benefit. Therefore, the carriers suggested that children should pay 75% of the fare, as provided by the law. Now, we do not reimburse carriers anything for transportation of schoolchildren. This issue will still be discussed. Maybe children will have to pay 50 percent of the fare. It will make them more disciplined. They will understand that you can not just ride a bus all day", – Uzhgorod city mayor said.
