Pavlo Klimkin will visit Transcarpathia today

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin went to Transcarpathia to resolve the language issue with the Hungarian community, the TSN reported.

On Friday, December 1, Klimkin will meet with local authorities, educators and the Hungarian community in Beregovo and Uzhgorod.

Budapest is so unhappy with the language law, which provides for gradual introduction of Ukrainian language at schools with other languages of instruction, that it has already become a scandal at the state level. Hungary demands to have the document revised, threatens to block all EU decisions aimed at rapprochement with Kyiv.

Ukrainians say that they are willing to negotiate with the Hungarians, however, they insist that the education law is purely an internal affair of our state.
