Preliminary designs of the monument to Holodomor victims will be presented in Uzhgorod

On May 25, at 11.00, in the atrium of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration and the Regional Council, the participants of the open competition for the best design of the monument to victims of 1932-1933 Holodomor will present their visions of the future monument.

Recall that according to the requirements of the competition announced by the Transcarpathian regional state administration, the entries were accepted until May 15.

The competition was open to collectives and individual authors having the necessary professional training and properly fulfilling the task of the competition – namely, to reflect the important historical event in the life of Ukraine by means of monumental sculpture at a high artistic level and taking the features of the environment into account, particularly the scale, space, landscape and architectural ensemble at the installation site of the future monument – Narodna Sq., 2 (near the building of the Medical Faculty of Uzhgorod National University).

In the atrium, the public and the media will be able to to see the preliminary designs. Later, the winner will be determined by the competent jury, which will be announced later.
