The police detained the men who had stolen a car on Mynaiska street in Uzhgorod

The men, who had stolen a "Fiat Doblo" parked on a street in Uzhgorod, were arrested by the CID officers, the car was returned to the owner.

The owner of the "Fiat Doblo" reported to the police that his car had been stolen at night from Mynaiska street in the regional center of Transcarpathia. During the search operations, officers of Uzhgorod Criminal Police Department found out that the car had been stolen by two Uzhgorod residents aged 20 and 23. Both were previously convicted for theft.

The thieves intended to sell the car, but were detained by the police before they were able to do it. The "Fiat Doblo" was in a village in Uzhgorod district, where it was found and seized by the police. The car was returned to the owner.

The police are investigating the criminal proceeding over this incident under Art.289 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal appropriation of a vehicle). Investigators are checking the involvement of the suspects in other crimes. The choice of a pretrial restraint is being decided.
