In the city of Uzhgorod, a pack of wild ducks and swans got trapped in the ice under the pedestrian bridge on Teatralna Square. Because of the low temperatures, the Uzh river got covered with ice and about 200 birds ended up in one hole.
In order to prevent the death of the birds, rescuers of the special squad carried out a real rescue operation in the middle of the Uzh.
Using an ice ax and a chainsaw, rescuers cut the ice and increased the water surface area to free the birds, the press service of Transcarpathian rescuers informs.
Recall that more than a dozen swans have settled in Uzhgorod. Experts believe that they choose our city for rest.
