This was the title of the conference held in the city of Vynogradiv, where heads of local executive authorities, local self-government, nature reserve, national parks, scientists, foresters defined the state and the main priorities of environmental protection in the region. According to the Director of the Department of Environment Serhiy Rishko, the conference venue was chosen for a reason, because there are many important nature reserves in Vynogradiv district,
The conference was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Governor Viktor Mikulin, who expressed a principled position on the expansion of the natural reserve fund of the region: "There are now discussions about the expansion of the National Park "Enchanted Land". Transcarpathian Regional State Administration supports this initiative."
According to the head of Vynogradiv District State Administration Mykhailo Rusanyuk, the aim of this conference is to combine academic and practical achievements in the field of ecology and develop a consensus mechanism for environmental activities.
Therefore, at the conference they considered the issues of the execution of the Acts of the President and the Government of Ukraine on preservation of the beech forests of the Carpathians as a UNESCO World Heritage site and sustainable development of mountain settlements of Transcarpathia, activities on development of the project for arrangement of the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve and the use of its territory taking into account the interests of local communities, optimization and development of natural reserve fund of the region, in particular the territorial structure of the National Park "Synevyr."
In addition, the Deputy Head of the Department of Environment Ostap Tsapulych presentated a geographic information system of environmental monitoring of Transcarpathian region, an online version of which can be found at: http://ecozakarpat.net.ua.
