Border guards detained a “Mercedes” with altered body numbers

At the checkpoint "Uzhgorod", border guards of the Chop detachment prevented illegal movement of a vehicle with forged body number across the state border.

Thus, a minibus "Mercedes-Benz V230" driven by a 23-year-old citizen of Ukraine arrived at the checkpoint to leave Ukraine. During the inspection of the vehicle, border guards suspected that the numbered units of the vehicle had been altered. Later, after the expert examination of the vehicle, it was found out that part of the detail bearing the identification number of the body had been cut out of another vehicle and welded into the body of the inspected one.

Currently, the vehicle has been seized according to the law and the estimated at about 79,000 UAH. Relevant procedural documents were drawn up against the violator.
