Employees of the Transcarpathian customs office together with the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region prevented the attempted smuggling of tobacco products from Ukraine.
Thus, on July 28, 2016, a car "RENAULT TRAFIC" with a trailer "Santey" arrived at the customs post "Tisa" of the Transcarpathian customs office. The vehicle with Ukrainian registration was driven by our compatriot.
The driver chose for customs control the "red corridor", informing customs officers that he was moving no goods, including those hidden from customs control.
As a result of the inspection of the car and the trailer, they found cigarettes hidden from customs control. In particular, in the trailer, there was a cache measuring 29x33x105 cm containing cigarettes of different brands, made in Ukraine, with excise stamps of Ukraine. The total number of cigarettes hidden from customs control was 1,420 packs.
Thus, the citizen committed acts aimed at moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control, ie using specially manufactured caches. These actions have signs of violation of customs regulations under Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. Based on Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, the report was made and the trailer worth over 72,000 UAH and the cigarettes worth nearly 31,000 UAH were seized.
