More than thirty students of Uzhgorod National University received Volodymyr Gisem scholarships

On May 26, in the local cinema "Domion", students of Uzhgorod National University were awarded social incentive grants of Volodymyr Gisem, the Media Center of UzhNU reports.

The project, under which Transcarpathian students can receive cash reward until completing their studies in high school, has been successfully operating since 2006. Its organizers are the Uzhgorod Cognac Factory and the Transcarpathian Union of Young Socialists.

Scholarship is granted to students from low-income families that have achieved good results in education. 

The head of the Union of Young Socialists Vasyl Hrab came to the event to award the winners. According to him, the aim of the project is to help not only financially, but also encourage students to self-development.

While studying at universities, students often lack some motivation. We are ready to pay them for gaining knowledge which they will later put into practice and contribute to the development of our country – he said.

This year, Volodymyr Gisem scholarships were granted to more than thirty students from thirteen faculties of Uzhgorod National University. The total number of scholars is almost one hundred people.

After the awarding, the students had the opportunity to socialize, eat candy and watch the movie "X-Men: Apocalypse".
