“I can!” – a two-year partnership project under this title starts in Uzhgorod

According to the chairwoman of Uzhgorod City Organization of the Women’s Union of Ukraine, the head of the city organization of the Red Cross Valentina Mitrovtsi, the project is launched on the initiative of the City Organization of the Women’s Union of Ukraine together with the charitable organization "Time to Serve".

A variety of activities are planned: conferences on women’s rights; trainings for women, who have not been able to get a profession; regular meetings and consultations for women with lawyers, psychologists and doctors, organization of trainings and lectures on women’s rights, human trafficking, prevention of alcohol and drug addiction for girls aged 13-16 in schools and orphanages and more.

All that was discussed today during the reporting and election conference of the regional organization of the Union of Women of Ukraine. Olga Kravchuk was reelected as the head of the organization, Valentina Mitrovtsi, in addition to being the head of the city organization, became the first deputy chairwoman of the regional organization. The manager of Uzhgorod city executive committee Olena Makar was elected to the Presidium of the regional organization.

Today, women of Uzhgorod and Transcarpathian region had a chance to attend a seminar on gender equality in Ukraine and the EU.
