On May 21, the Day of Neighborliness between Ukraine and Slovakia took place at the checkpoint "Uzhgorod – Vysne Nemecke", the zakarpattya.net.ua informs.
The guests of the celebration had the opportunity to communicate with foreign colleagues and learn about cultural features of Kosice self-governing region and different districts of Transcarpathia.
During the official part of the Day of Neighborliness, honored guests from the both neighboring countries spoke to a large audience. The head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal presented the President of the Slovak Republic (1999 – 2004) Rudolf Schuster a symbolic plaque certifying the transfer of a helicopter Mi-8PS-9 from Ukraine for the exhibition at the Museum of Aviation in the Slovak city of Kosice. The helicopter made in 1972, which is currently in a neutral zone, will soon be transported to the neighboring country where it will be restored and put on public display.
