The staff of the “Bavka” started an intense and landmark theatrical week in Transcarpathia

Today, the presentation of the book "Acting Puppet Theatre of the Silver Land" released to mark the 35th anniversary of the Transcarpathian Regional Academic Puppet Theatre with the support of the Department of Culture of the RSA took place in Uzhgorod.

The new book was presented by managers and staff of the theater. Director Miroslav Petiy stressed that until now there have been only thin brochures about the "Bavka", and this book is the first big publication that includes basic information about the foundation, formation and present days of one of the leading puppet theaters in Ukraine.

The chief director Natalia Oryeshnikova will be presenting the book to colleagues from other regions and abroad. She says that the publication indeed presents the most significant achievements of the theater at home and at prestigious festivals, in particular, international ones. Of course, the repertoire has a prominent place, text is accompanied by photographs of performances and original posters for them created by a talented designer Galina Korneva. The latter also worked on the design of the publication, among other things, "revived" some old photos. 

The initial run of the book "Acting Puppet Theater of the Silver Land" is 150 copies which will be distributed among the staff of the "Bavka" and scholars, the Department of Culture of the RSA, Uzhgorod College of Culture and Arts (where future theater artists are trained), and regional libraries (for a wide range of readers).

The anniversary celebration will continue on Friday with a festive event that will start in the hall of the Regional Academic Puppet Theatre at 15.00.
