The famous novel by Jaroslav Hasek has long been the property of the theater stage. Transcarpathian Regional Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater also staged this novel about 30 years ago. Then, the musical comedy was directed by Jaroslav Sisak from Slovakia.
Now, the theater presents a new production. This time, the director of "The Adventures of the Good Soldier Schweik" is the artistic director of the theater, the honored artist of Ukraine Vasyl Shershun who, by the way, tomorrow, January 29, celebrates his 60th anniversary.
Almost the entire cast of the theater is involved in the musical comedy (music by V.Lukashov, libretto by D.Shevtsov). The leading role – Josef Svejk – is played by an experienced actor Taras Hamaha and a young actor Serhiy Baranov.
The premiere of "The Good Soldier Svejk" will be presented on January 31 at 18.00. An hour before the performance, traditionally there will be a press conference with the theater management and the cast.
