Andriyiv “forced in” the executive committee

The draft decision on the quantitative and personal composition of the executive committee of Uzhgorod city council, which is proposed at the session, provides for 7 members in total.

Seven names are specified in the draft decision, including the mayor, the secretary of the city council and the manager of the executive committee – ex officio.

As for the others, the following nominations are proposed: Miroslav Hisem (the Chairman of the Board of the "ComInvestBank" JSC), Mykola Palinchak (Dean of the Faculty of International Relations UzhNU), Stepan Sember (former mayor, now the director of the Transcarpathian Regional Center for Socio-Economic and Humanities Research of the NAS Ukraine), Roman Stefanyshyn (Chief of Uzhgorod Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police).

Despite numerous demands of the deputies to discuss the candidates and consider other options, including a discussion with the public, the mayor insisted on voting for that membership.

Andriyiv did not support the propositions to expand the composition of the executive committee or to postpone voting to another session.

And in an authoritarian manner "forced in" the decision. In the end, 21 votes "for" were enough to approve the named members. This indicates that, although situationally, but the mayor has the majority. Next is the voting for the Secretary of the City Council.
